Sierra Azul

Sierra Azul is a relatively new growers cooperative, formed in 2010, consisting of 600 small stakeholders with an average of 3 hectares each (about 7.5 acres or a tenth of a square mile). These small farms are located in the Southern Mexican State of Chiapas, within the buffer zone of El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve. The cooperative works with UNESCO to develop and promote sustainable agricultural practices that minimize the impact of coffee growing on the environment.
